Terms of Service
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the kosokoso macOS application and related services ("Service"), provided by nae Inc. ("we", "us"). By installing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
1. The Service
kosokoso is a macOS application that converts your speech into text and inserts it into other applications. Transcription may run on your device (Local mode), through your own third-party API key (Cloud mode), or through our hosted proxy (Proxy mode).
2. Licenses and plans
- App License — a one-time purchase granting a personal license to use the application.
- Proxy subscription — a recurring subscription providing a monthly allowance of cloud transcription minutes.
- Local mode — available at no cost and does not require a license.
Your license is for personal use. You may not resell, redistribute, or share license keys.
3. Payments
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns. Applicable taxes are calculated and collected by Paddle.
4. Subscriptions and cancellation
Proxy subscriptions renew automatically each month until cancelled. You may cancel at any time; access continues until the end of the current billing period. Monthly transcription minutes do not roll over.
5. Trial
The application offers a 7-day trial. After the trial ends, a valid license is required to continue using paid features. Local mode remains free.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service to violate any law, infringe others' rights, or transcribe content you are not authorized to record. You are responsible for complying with applicable laws regarding the recording of conversations.
7. Third-party services
Cloud and Proxy modes transmit audio to third-party transcription providers (e.g., Groq, OpenAI) for processing. Your use of those modes is also subject to those providers' terms.
8. Disclaimer and liability
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, nae Inc. is not liable for any indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Transcription accuracy is not guaranteed.
9. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Japan.
